What a crowd control barrier does
Crowd control barriers — also called pedestrian barriers — are lightweight framed steel panels that interlock into a continuous line. Each panel carries fixed hooks on both frame ends, so adjacent panels connect without separate couplers, and the finished line can be opened, closed or re-routed as site conditions change.
Because panels stack flat, a single pallet delivery covers a long barrier run, and handling crews move stacks with pallet trucks or by hand. After the event or work window, the same panels pack down for the next site.

Feet types
Three feet for different ground
The foot determines stability, stacking behaviour and which surfaces the barrier suits. Choose one type per project, or mix types where a line crosses both paved and soft ground.
Flat feet
A welded steel plate with a short sleeve, bolted to the frame. Sits close to the ground on hard, level surfaces, and the plate carries holes so the foot can be pinned where extra stability is needed.
Bridge feet
A bridge-shaped tube foot welded to the frame. The arch bridges uneven or soft ground and keeps the panel steady where a flat plate would rock.
Welded fixed feet
Two short tubes welded to the lower frame in an A-shape. Permanent and robust, suited to repeated stacking, transport and redeployment.Surface & colour
Galvanized and coated finishes
Every barrier starts as welded steel tube. Hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication forms a zinc layer on the steel surface that protects it from oxidation and corrosion through outdoor seasons.
Where colour or site visibility matters, PVC or powder coating is applied over the galvanized layer. RAL 6005 green, RAL 7016 grey and RAL 9005 black are common choices, and other RAL colours can be produced on request.

Pallet packing for transport
Finished panels are stacked on a dedicated steel pallet with four vertical corner tubes welded to the base, which keeps the stack from shifting. Iron or plastic strapping secures the bundle so panels arrive straight and undamaged — unload and deploy directly on site.

How do barriers connect into a line?
Each frame carries fixed hooks on both ends. Hooks on one panel drop over the frame of the next, so a continuous line forms without separate couplers. The same hooks hold panels together while stacked.
Which foot type should I choose?
Flat feet suit hard, level ground and can be pinned where needed. Bridge feet and welded fixed feet cope better with uneven or soft ground because the contact geometry does not rely on a flat plate. Tell us the surface and we will recommend one.
Galvanized, or coated on top?
Hot-dip galvanizing alone suits long outdoor exposure and site duty. PVC or powder coating over the zinc layer adds colour for branding and visibility, at a slightly higher cost. Both coatings sit over the galvanized layer.
Can walk-through gates be supplied to match?
Yes — single and double walk-through gates can be produced to match the panel height and finish, so pedestrian access points sit inside the same barrier line. Confirm gate size and swing direction in your enquiry.
